Sending euros to Bybit from an Italian bank account: name matching, reference and timing

A euro bank transfer is a common way to fund a Bybit account from Italy, and most problems come from a missing reference or a mismatched account holder. How to prepare the transfer and trace it if it does not arrive.

Funding an exchange account by bank transfer feels familiar to anyone who has paid a bill online, yet transfers to exchanges fail more often than people expect. The reason is that the exchange's payment partner must match each incoming payment to a specific account automatically. If the sender's name does not match your verified identity, or the reference code is missing, the money arrives but cannot be credited. A few minutes of preparation avoid days of back-and-forth with support.

Check which euro methods your account shows

In the Bybit app, open Assets, then Deposit, and choose fiat or the euro option. The screen lists the methods currently offered to your account, which can depend on your verification level and the Bybit entity that serves your region. The Bybit help center describes each method with its live limits, processing times and any charges, so read that page instead of relying on figures from forums. If no euro bank transfer appears, check whether your verification is complete before contacting support.

Copy the bank details and the reference exactly

When you choose the bank transfer method, Bybit shows the beneficiary name, the IBAN, sometimes a BIC, and a unique reference code tied to your account. In your Italian bank's app or home banking, create a new transfer and copy each field from the Bybit screen rather than typing it. Paste the reference into the causale field, and do not add extra words around it. Use an ordinary SEPA transfer unless the Bybit page explicitly mentions instant transfers.

Send only from an account in your own name

The bank account must be held in the same name as your verified Bybit profile. Transfers from a partner's account, a joint account where you are not the first holder, or a business account are commonly rejected and returned, which can take days. If your bank shows your name differently, for example with a middle name, check how it appears on your statements and on your Bybit profile before sending.

Tracing a transfer that has not been credited

Standard SEPA transfers usually take a business day or two, so do not panic on the first day. If the funds have left your bank but are not in Bybit after the time stated on the method's page, download the transfer receipt from your bank, which shows the CRO or TRN identifier. Open a support chat from your logged-in Bybit account, attach the receipt and mention the reference code you used. Avoid sending a second transfer until the first one is resolved.
