For Bybit users in Italy moving stablecoins in and out: how USDT and USDC differ in practice, how to pick a network both sides support and what to check on the deposit and withdrawal screens.

On Bybit, stablecoins are the bridge between almost everything: you deposit them from a bank-connected service, trade with them and withdraw them to a wallet. Two of them dominate, USDT and USDC, and each can travel on several networks. The coin and the network are separate choices, and mixing them up is the source of many stuck transfers. This guide keeps the two decisions apart and walks through the Bybit screens where each one is made.

First choose the coin

USDT and USDC are issued by different companies and are different tokens, even though both aim to track the US dollar. Sending USDC to a USDT address does not convert it. Decide which coin the receiving side expects. If you are paying someone or using a service, ask them which coin they accept. On Bybit, the trading pairs you plan to use may also tilt the choice, since some markets are quoted mainly in one stablecoin.

Then choose a network both sides support

In Bybit Deposit or Withdraw, select the coin and open the network list. The other side, whether a wallet or another platform, has its own list for that coin. Pick a network that appears on both lists, reading the full name carefully. Note the withdrawal fee and minimum shown on Bybit for that network; these values change and only the live screen is accurate. A cheaper network is only useful if the receiver supports it.

Copy addresses and memos from the right place

For a deposit into Bybit, copy the address from the Bybit deposit screen after selecting the network, and copy the memo if one is shown. For a withdrawal, copy the address from the receiving wallet after selecting the same network there. Compare the first and last characters after pasting. Send a small amount first on any new combination of coin, network and destination, and keep the transaction ID until the funds arrive.

Watch for network notices

Bybit sometimes suspends deposits or withdrawals on a particular network for upgrades or congestion. A notice appears on the deposit or withdrawal screen when that happens. Read it before sending, because a transfer started on a suspended network can be delayed until the network resumes. If funds are late, check the transaction on a block explorer and then use Bybit's help centre with the network, amount, time and transaction ID.

Scenario checkpoint

  • Decide which stablecoin the receiver expects before choosing a network.
  • Pick a network that appears on both the Bybit list and the receiver's list.
  • Copy the address and any memo from the correct side after selecting the network.
  • Check for network notices on the Bybit screen and send a small test first.
